We are delighted this year to welcome a veritable host of snowsports stars:
Geraldine Fasnacht is a pioneering mountain athlete from Verbier in Switzerland. A Freeride World Tour snowboarder with multiple podiums, accomplished base jumper and wingsuit pilot and more recently a light aircraft pilot. Géraldine has explored some of the most remote places on earth; be it from the depths of Antarctica to the top of the Matterhorn at home in Switzerland. She was voted Adventurer of the Year in 2021 by the prestigious Paris Match magazine.
Marion Haerty – Marion’s journey towards Freeride World Tour success began at the age of ten when she discovered a snowboard-shaped parcel lying underneath the Christmas tree. She threw herself into snowboarding, honing her skills on the slopes of Chamrousse, near Grenoble. Marion explored everything from half-pipe and slopestyle to boardercross. But after reflecting deeply during time out through injury in 2015, she decided to move into freeriding, which offered her the combination of freedom, diversity and adventure. Marion stormed onto the freeride competition scene in 2016 and a year later took her first Freeride World Tour title. With her freestyle background she’d bring a playfulness to her freeriding that, at the time, was new and fresh on the women’s scene. She has won the Freeride World Tour four times, 2017, 2019, 2020 and 2021, with the last three in consecutive years – something no other rider – male or female – has ever done.
Mathis Dumas is a photographer, filmmaker, IFMGA Mountain Guide and elite level mountain sports athlete known for his ability to capture extraordinary imagery while climbing and skiing in extremely high-risk environments. He is based out of Chamonix, in the French Alps. He has climbed some of the most difficult Ice Falls, Alpine North Faces and Big Walls in the Alps and further afield. His award-winning photos have appeared on the cover of GQ Magazine and Montagne Magazine, among others, and he has directed commercial shooting projects for a diverse range of clients that includes Red Bull, Petzl, The North Face, Salomon and National Geographic.
Elias Elhardt is one of the best freeride snowboarders in the world. He grew up in Oberstaufen in the Bavarian Alps, where he developed his snowboarding skills from an early age. He often rides with snowboard legend Travis Rice and in 2020 Travis and Elias created a snowboard movie together named ‘Dark Matter’. Elias quickly became a force in the global snowboard scene, through his numerous film productions and competition successes. Some of his highlights include – Winner Junior World Championships 2005; Winner Big Air Stuttgart 2011; 3rd place “Air & Style” Beijing 2010.
Mike Arnold – American born IFMGA mountain guide Mike Arnold spent his formative mountain years ski racing in Colorado and chasing rarely skied lines around the state. Only five years after his first ski guide course, the Northern Maine native took just 7 months to pass all 3 IFMGA exams (rock, ski, alpine), each on first try and became one of the youngest Americans to earn his guide’s badge. After over a decade of expeditions and guiding in Aspen, Alaska and Europe Mike now lives and works in the Aosta valley in Italy.
